The most common reason a straightforward removal becomes complicated is timing. The chain completes on different dates. The new property needs work before the furniture can go in. The tenancy ends on a Friday and the new one starts three weeks later. In a standard removal, that gap creates a problem: what happens to your furniture and boxes between the two addresses?

The combined service is built for exactly this situation. We handle the full removal, load your belongings into sealed containers as part of the same job, store them at our own yard for as long as needed, and deliver them to your new address when you are ready. One crew, one booking, one invoice.

How the job runs

Payment runs through one invoice. A 10% deposit at booking secures your dates, and the balance is due after the job is complete, once the last container has been delivered and unloaded. We take payment by bank transfer, card or cash. Goods in transit cover of £50,000 comes as standard on the move, backed by £1,000,000 of public liability cover, and insurance for goods in storage is included in the storage price. Removal day with a storage split

From your perspective, removal day looks like any other full-service move. The difference is that part of the load goes directly to your new address and part goes into storage. Which items go where is decided during the survey, so the crew knows the split before they start loading.

What goes straight to the new address

The things you need immediately: beds for the first night, a kitchen box with the kettle and crockery, clothes for the week, the children’s toys and school bags. These are loaded onto the removal vehicle and delivered the same day.

What goes into storage

Everything else. The furniture, the boxes, the awkward items that do not need to be there on day one. These are loaded into sealed containers on the same property, at the same time, by the same crew, and transported to our yard.

The split means you do not move into a home full of stacked boxes and then live around them for weeks. You move in with what you need, and the rest arrives when the house is ready for it.

While your goods are in storage

After removal day, your goods sit in our monitored yard in sealed containers. The storage period can be as short as two weeks or as long as several months, with no minimum and no penalty for early return.

During the storage period, you are free to focus on whatever is causing the gap: the renovation, the chain completion, the start of the new tenancy. You do not need to think about your furniture. It is safe, dry, and you know exactly where it is.

Redelivery

When you are ready for the rest of your belongings, you contact us with a date. The crew collects your containers from the yard and delivers them to your new address. The seal is broken in your presence and everything is unloaded into the right rooms. Beds are reassembled, wardrobes are rebuilt, and the wrapping is taken away.

If the gap is short enough, the same crew who handled the initial move handles the return. For longer gaps the crew may be different, but the method is the same and the point of contact stays with us.

When the combined service fits

The combined service works best when the removal date is known and the gap to the new property is uncertain or just slightly offset. Common scenarios:

• The chain has exchanged but completion is not yet fixed. The removal needs to happen, but the new property may not be ready for two to six weeks.
• Renovations at the new property. The kitchen or bathroom is being fitted before the furniture goes in. The furniture arrives early, goes into storage, and is delivered once the work is finished.
• End-of-tenancy timing gap. The rental ends on a specific date, but the new tenancy starts later. The furniture moves out on time and returns when the new place is available.
• Moving in stages. The family moves first and the furniture follows, or the furniture arrives first and the family follows.

If the timeline changes after the survey, we adjust. The whole point of building storage into the removal is that your move is allowed to be flexible.
