Office Removals London
Commercial moves planned around your trading hours. IT equipment, furniture and archives moved overnight or at weekends, so the team is back at their desks by Monday morning.
An office move is a business project, not just a lorry booking. Desk by desk, cable by cable, everything your team needs on Monday morning has to arrive in the right room at the right time. That takes planning, and it takes a removals company that has done it hundreds of times.
We carry out office removals in London of every size, from our base in Harlow, from a micro office of a few desks to phased moves of larger floors. Most of our commercial moves run overnight or at weekends, so your team loses no working hours. One trained crew handles the job from the first crate to the last desk, and you get a fixed quote before anything moves.
This page explains how we run a London office removal: the planning, the IT handling, the packing, the insurance and what the move costs. If you want the short version, request a quote and we will come back to you within one working day.
What is included in an office removal
A standard office move with us includes more than a van and a pair of hands:
Included as standard
- A walkthrough, then a fixed written quote for the agreed scope before you commit
- Loading and unloading by one trained crew, start to finish, including your driver
- Basic dismantling and reassembly of desks, workstations and meeting room furniture
- Furniture protection: wraps, blankets and floor covering at both buildings
- Crates and cables labelled at both ends, tagged by person and department
- A dedicated foreman who runs the day and is your point of contact
- Goods in transit cover up to £50,000 as standard, with £1,000,000 public liability on top
Optional extras
- Full professional packing. IT crates for screens and towers, standard crates for desk contents, book crates for the library and archive boxes for the records room, all labelled as they are packed. Details on the packing services in London page.
- Archive storage. Records and furniture that are not needed on day one go into our own sealed containers instead of taking up floor space in the new office.
- Phased moves. Floor by floor or team by team, with its own run sheet and sign-off per phase, for businesses that keep trading throughout.
The move is planned around your trading hours
Offices cannot simply close for a day while the lorries load. Deadlines, clients and calls do not pause. So we plan the move around the hours you actually work.
The common pattern is a weekend move. The crew packs down on Friday evening or Saturday, everything travels and is placed over Saturday and Sunday, and on Monday morning your team walks into a working office. For smaller moves we often work a single overnight shift: the lorries arrive when the last person leaves, and the desks are set up before anyone clocks in.
Larger businesses do not always want everything moved at once. We run phased moves too, floor by floor or team by team, so part of the business keeps trading while the rest relocates. Phasing takes more planning, not more risk: each phase gets its own run sheet, its own labelled crates and its own sign-off before the next one starts.
Tell us your constraints and we will build the schedule around them. That is the whole point of an out-of-hours office move: the business never stops, only the office does.
IT equipment, servers and screens
For most offices the IT is the scary part, not the furniture. A desk can be rebuilt in minutes; a server or a phone system cannot be guessed back together. We treat the IT as its own project inside your move.
Before moving day we agree how everything will be disconnected, labelled and reconnected. Cables are labelled at both ends and photographed where the setups are complex, so reconnection follows a record rather than a memory. Computers, monitors and printers travel in padded IT crates. Screens get wrapped and stood upright, never stacked flat under anything.
Servers and network kit move last out and first in where the schedule allows, because everything else in an office depends on them. If you have an IT support company or an in-house person, we work to their plan and handle the physical side: lifting, wrapping, transporting and placing the kit exactly where the floor plan says it goes.
The goal is simple. Every person sits down at a desk that works, with their own screen, their own cables and their own phone, on the first morning in the new office.
How we minimise downtime
Downtime is the real cost of an office move, far more than the removals invoice. A weekend of careful work is cheaper for most businesses than a single lost trading day. Everything in our process exists to protect your working hours.
It starts weeks earlier with a walkthrough. We measure the move, not guess it: how many desks and chairs, what the access at both buildings is like, which lifts we can book, where the loading bays are and what the building managers require. From that we build a run sheet for moving day, hour by hour, so nothing waits on a decision that should have been made in advance.
In the new office, desks are placed to your floor plan before the boxes arrive. Crates are labelled by person and by destination, so at the far end they go straight to the right desk instead of piling up in a corridor. The first items we position are the ones that make the office work: IT, phones, printers and the meeting room.
Done properly, the move happens while the office is empty and the business feels nothing. That is the standard we plan to, and it is the number we put at the top of this page: zero days of downtime.
How your office move works
On site, or by video call for smaller offices. We count the desks and crates, check access, lifts and loading bays at both buildings, then you get a fixed written quote. The price we agree is the price you pay.
Crates arrive in advance if your team is packing, or our crew packs the lot. Cables are labelled at both ends, and every crate is tagged to a person or a department so nothing hunts for itself on Monday.
The crew works the window your business needs: overnight, a weekend or a phased schedule. Desks go to the floor plan, servers come off last and go in first, and the run sheet keeps the day moving.
Every desk working, every crate at the right desk, IT reconnected to the plan, wrapping and crates cleared on schedule. Your team walks in and starts work.
Every office move is planned individually, because no two buildings, lift bookings or access situations are the same. Crew size and vehicles are allocated against the real job from the walkthrough, which is why the plan holds on the day.
Insurance on the day
Your contents are covered while they are with us. Goods in transit cover is £50,000 as standard, with £1,000,000 of public liability on top. If your office holds high-value equipment, tell us at the quoting stage and we will confirm the cover in writing before moving day.
Every move is carried out by one trained crew, the same people from loading to unloading. Nothing is handed between teams, and nothing moves without a labelled crate or a wrapped blanket around it. For commercial premises we are happy to work alongside your building managers’ requirements, and to answer their questions before moving day rather than during it.
Insurance is the safety net, not the plan. The plan is careful handling by people who do this every week, and the insurance is there so that a rare accident never becomes your problem.
What an office removal in London costs
Most London office moves land in these ranges:
| Office size | Typical cost (inc VAT) |
|---|---|
| Micro office (1-4 desks) | £300 - £720 |
| Small office (5-15 desks) | £600 - £1,800 |
| Medium office (15-40 desks) | £1,500 - £4,200 |
| Large office (40+ desks) | £4,200+ |
These are guides, not quotes. The accurate figure comes from seeing the move: a walkthrough of the office, or a video call for smaller ones. The walkthrough is free and the price we agree is fixed before anything is packed. We take on offices from micro size upwards, and the guide ranges cover the whole job, not just the van time.
What decides where your move lands inside a range is a handful of things:
| Factor | Why it moves the price |
|---|---|
| Size and contents | The number of desks, chairs, screens and crates drives the crew size and the number of lorries. |
| Access at both ends | A ground-floor loading bay and a fourth-floor office with a single small lift are different jobs. |
| Timing | Overnight and weekend work is standard for us; the schedule affects the crew we plan. |
| Packing | Full professional packing, crates only, or your team packs and we move. |
| Distance and phasing | A cross-London move in one shift differs from a phased move across a fortnight. |
The fixed quote covers the whole job: the crew, the vehicles, blankets and crates, insurance for your contents, and fuel. Payment is straightforward. A 10% deposit at booking secures your dates, and the balance is due after the move is complete, once everything is placed and you have seen the job done. We take payment by bank transfer, card or cash. If the scope changes, the change is priced and agreed with you before the crew starts, never invented on the day.

Storage between moves
Timing does not always line up. The new lease starts three weeks after the old one ends, or the new floor is not ready, or the archive needs to come out before anyone knows where it is going. When that happens, our own container storage keeps the move alive: your effects are loaded once, directly from the move, into sealed 250 cu ft containers at our yard, and the container is not opened until you need them back. The same company that moved your office stores it, so nothing is handed off to a third-party warehouse. That is the short version of our storage service in London.
Where we work in London
Every office move starts with the streets, and the streets are not the same across town. Our area guides cover the whole city region by region, each one written around the access, the parking and the building quirks of that part of London: North London, East London, South London, West London and Central London. Being based in Harlow puts us on the A12, the M11 and the M25 without fighting through town first.
Local knowledge is not a nice-to-have in this city. It is knowing which City buildings need insurance certificates before a lift can be booked, where the loading bays are on a narrow Camden street, and how long the A406 is at 7pm on a Friday. That knowledge is baked into the run sheet, and it is part of what you are paying for.
Related services
Office life and home life move at the same time. If the team also needs house removals in London while the office relocates, both jobs can run on the same surveyed, fixed quote basis.
If the archive or the desk packing needs doing properly, our packing services in London cover full professional packing, IT crates and labelling, planned in from the walkthrough rather than bolted on later.
Aviv vs the alternatives
There is no shortage of office movers in London. Every one of them will promise a smooth move, so here is who is behind the words and what each option is actually good at.
Aviv office moves
Out of hours as standard. One crew per move.
Aviv runs office moves like projects, not lorry bookings. A walkthrough builds the run sheet, IT travels in padded crates with labelled cables, and the whole move is priced as one fixed written quote before anything is packed.
- 5.0 on Google from 160+ five-star reviews
- Goods in transit cover up to £50,000
- Overnight and weekend moves as standard
- Own container storage at our own yard
National chains
Corporate movers with account managers and booking portals. Strong on process and multi-site relocations, but you pay for the infrastructure, and the crew on the day may be subcontracted.
Best for: large phased corporate relocations across multiple sites.
General movers
House-removal firms that take the occasional office job. Fine for a handful of desks, but office moves need out-of-hours scheduling, IT handling and lift bookings that household moves never involve.
Best for: very small offices moving during working hours.
In-house move day
Your own team carries monitors and chairs on a Friday afternoon. It looks free, but it costs a lost trading day, risks the equipment and lands the reconnection on whoever drew the short straw.
Best for: moving a few boxes between two desks in the same building.
If that is the kind of move you want, the next step is a short conversation. Request a quote or get in touch and we will scope your office move and come back to you within one working day.
