How much does storage cost in London?

Container storage in London costs £20 + VAT per week for a 250 cu ft sealed container with us, and £15 + VAT per week once your stay reaches eight weeks. Most storage pricing hides its real number inside promotional first weeks, access fees and insurance upsells, which is why the advertised rate and the actual bill rarely match. Ours is a per container, per week figure you can do the sums on before you speak to anyone. What storage in London costs

Our rates are published and simple. Pricing is per 250 cu ft container, per week:

Add VAT and the rates come to £24 and £18 a week. One rate covers one sealed container for one week, loaded by our crew at your address and stored at our own yard under 24 hour security and CCTV. The tier you land on is simply a function of how long the container stays: reach eight weeks and the weekly rate drops to £15 + VAT for the whole stay, so longer gaps cost less per week than short ones.

For scale, one 250 cu ft container holds roughly a Luton van’s worth of furniture and boxes, or the contents of a one to two bedroom flat. Larger homes use more containers, each loaded and sealed separately, and nobody shares space with a stranger’s sofa. What your storage bill looks like

Because the rate is per container per week, the total is arithmetic rather than guesswork. These examples price one container over a typical range of stays:

No, the eight week line is not a typo. Seven weeks on the short rate costs £140 + VAT in total. Eight weeks moves the entire stay onto the long rate, which comes to £120 + VAT. Storing for an extra week costs £20 less than stopping a week earlier. If your gap is anywhere near two months, it pays to know the pricing works that way before you book a shorter stay to be safe.

Two containers? Double every figure. Three, triple it. The container count comes out of the survey rather than a guess over the phone, and it is fixed in writing before anything moves.

What the weekly rate includes

The rate includes the collection, the loading by our crew, the yard storage under 24 hour security and CCTV, and the redelivery of the same sealed container. It runs as one job with the same crew from start to finish, quoted as a single fixed price after the survey. Nothing gets bolted on when the container comes back.

Insurance for goods in storage is included as well, with no separate policy and nothing added at the end. While your goods are on the road between your address and the yard, they travel under our goods in transit cover of £50,000, backed by £1,000,000 of public liability cover.

What changes the total is the part no rate card can predict: how many containers you need and the access at both addresses. A third floor flat with a tight staircase takes longer to load than a ground floor maisonette with a driveway. The survey captures that before you commit rather than after, which is why the quote we agree is the price you pay.

You tell us what is going into storage and when. We confirm the container count and the access at both ends, usually on a video call or a walk-through, and then you get a fixed written quote covering the collection, the storage weeks and the redelivery. A 10% deposit at booking secures your collection date, the balance is due after the job is complete, and we take payment by bank transfer, card or cash.

What you are actually comparing against

Self-storage is the obvious alternative, and the honest answer is that the two headline rates measure different things. A self-storage room is priced per square foot and leaves the van hire, the carrying, the insurance and the admin fee to you. Our rate is per sealed container per week, with the loading, the transport and the insurance already inside it. Add up the full journey rather than the headline and the gap between the two is rarely what the price boards suggest.
