Parking and access in Stratford

Much of Stratford sits inside Newham’s residential parking zones, and the operating hours differ from zone to zone. In a zoned street a removal lorry cannot legally wait in a resident bay, so the practical answer on the older streets is a bay suspension: the council reserves the bays outside your home for the day. Reserve two bays, not one. A 7.5 tonne lorry takes up about a bay and a half on its own, and it needs room to work.

Newham charges for suspensions per bay, per day, plus a small administration fee, and residents can suspend up to three spaces in a permit or shared-use bay. The building matters as much as the kerb, and in Stratford it usually matters more.
